We have a mixture of multi-age and single-age classrooms. Multi-age groupings in the primary and intermediate years strengthen the relationship between the teacher and student and the teacher and family. In multi-age classrooms, younger students have opportunities to observe, emulate, and imitate a wide range of behaviors; older students have the opportunity to assume more responsibility. Single-age groupings in the early childhood and upper years allow for a focus on the transition in to elementary school and preparation for moving on to middle school.
