Making the Band

Calling all musicians! Join us this summer for Making the Band, a creative and comprehensive music-making experience celebrating the joys of being in a band. Students will collaborate with their bandmates to write, record, and release an original song. This Inquiry investigation will include learning experiences such as band rehearsals, songwriting sessions, basic music theory lessons, studying mentor songs, and creating song artwork. To inspire creativity and get the ideas flowing, we will study great musicians through studio recording sessions, concert footage, interviews, band photos, album liner notes, and biographies. The students’ original songs and artwork will be premiered at a culminating Release Party. No formal music experience required, all musical journeys welcome. Hope to see you there!
